    KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced the NABC Honors Court, recognizing those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2012-13 season. Among those honored were SUNYIT men’s basketball players Eric Corcoran (Utica, N.Y.), Alex Drake (Lansingburgh, N.Y.), and Ryan James (Saratoga, N.Y.).

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men’s Basketball Team (8-14, 6-6 NEAC) came up with a big win at home over NEAC North Division foe Keuka College on Saturday, 74-71. With the win the Wildcats retain an outside chance at getting into the NEAC Conference Tournament.
  • Men’s Basketball Wins Behind 28 Points from James

    MARCY, N.Y. – On the heels of a big win for the women’s basketball team, the men’s team stepped up in their own right Wednesday night, beating Cobleskill for the second time in a week, 81-73. The Wildcats benefited from a huge game out of Ryan James (Saratoga Springs, N.Y. / Saratoga Springs). James poured in a game-high 28 points while pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds as well, the latter a particularly impressive statistic a 6-foot guard.

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men’s Basketball Team (6-13, 3-6 NEAC) came up with a gutsy win Wednesday at SUNY Cobleskill (5-15, 3-7 NEAC). The Wildcats held on for a 67-66 victory, playing through 22 turnovers against an athletic Cobleskill press.

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Wildcats (3-11, 1-3 NEAC) came back from a 13-point deficit in the second half to defeat the Nittany Lions of Penn State-Abington Sunday afternoon, 70-62. The Wildcats engineered an improbable 20-3 run over a six-minute stretch late in the second half to hang on for their first conference victory.
  • Wildcats Fall to Gallaudet Despite 30 Points from Richardson

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – T’Andre Richardson (Utica, N.Y. / Utica-Proctor) made his first 13 field goal attempts on Sunday at Gallaudet, falling just 5 short of the NCAA record of 18 consecutive field goals to start a game. Richardson finished with 30 points on 14 of 18 shooting, but the Wildcats as a group went cold in the 64-56 loss, hitting just 35% of their attempts while the Bison shot better than 50%.
  • Wildcats Stay Hot with Win over Utica, 88-75

    MARCY, N.Y. – After an 0-8 start to the season, the Wildcats (2-8) are now on a two-game winning streak thanks to an 88-75 win over the visiting Pioneers of Utica College (3-7). SUNYIT turned in their finest offensive performance of the season, converting 56% of their shot attempts while utilizing a balanced attack that saw five Wildcats score in double-figures.

The Wildcats will face the loser of Saturday’s late game between the host CSI Dolphins and the MCLA Trailblazers, with the consolation game tipoff set for 1:00 pm on Sunday.
