Wildcats Fall to Gallaudet Despite 30 Points from Richardson

WASHINGTON, D.C. – T'Andre Richardson (Utica, N.Y. / Utica-Proctor) made his first 13 field goal attempts on Sunday at Gallaudet, falling just 5 short of the NCAA record of 18 consecutive field goals to start a game. Richardson finished with 30 points on 14 of 18 shooting, but the Wildcats as a group went cold in the 64-56 loss, hitting just 35% of their attempts while the Bison shot better than 50%.

With the win Gallaudet evens their NEAC record at 2-2, while the Wildcats drop to 0-2.

Richardson had a monster game, adding 13 rebounds to his season-high point total, with both numbers registering as game-highs. The 6-5 sophomore's 11 for 11 performance in the first half helped SUNYIT build a 7-point lead heading into the locker room, but the success would be short-lived as the Wildcats couldn't decipher the Bison zone in the second half, shooting 4 for 24 from three-point range on the game.

Leading the way for Gallaudet was Layton Seeber, who scored 19 points on 7 of 10 shooting, while Tyler Crace hit a number of devastating three-pointers in going 3-4 from long range and totaling 15 points on the day.

SUNYIT will look to regroup before another tough NEAC test this Wednesday. The Wildcats will travel to SUNY-Morrisville to take on the Mustangs at 4:00 pm.
