    KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Wildcats voiced their frustration Saturday afternoon, angrily eliminating Penn St.-Berks and then Cazenovia by a combined score of 22-0. Even the dominant wins, however, wasn’t likely to take the sting out of the morning’s eight-inning loss to NEAC South Division champ Wilson College. The Wildcats held a 4-1 lead entering the bottom of the sixth inning, but the Phoenix hung three two-out base hits in a row on SUNYIT to tie the score at four.

    KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – SUNYIT 1st-Team All-Conference hurler Erica Hovey (Dexter, N.Y. / Jefferson CC) pitched a complete-game gem, shutting out Penn St.-Berks 3-0 in seven innings. With the win the Wildcats (24-10, 17-3 NEAC) advance to play the NEAC South’s top seed, Wilson College, in an 8:00 am match up tomorrow morning, while Berks drops into the loser’s bracket.

    GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Keuka College is set to be the host site of the 2012 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) softball championships, with the six-team, double-elimination tournament taking place this Friday, May 4 through Sunday, May 6.
  • Juleah Vedder Named ECAC Hitter of the Week and NEAC Softball Student-Athlete of the Week

    CENTERVILLE, M.A. - Juleah Vedder was named ECAC Softball Hitter of the Week for the Upstate Division after registering a scalding .833 batting average along with a .857 on-base percentage to help lead the Wildcats to a sweep over Cazenovia. The junior launched two home runs and collected six RBI while scoring six runs. Vedder currently leads the NEAC North in hits (48) and RBI (39) and is tied for third in batting average (.444).
  • Wildcats Sweep Cazenovia on Senior Day

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Softball Team (19-10, 13-3 NEAC) couldn’t have asked for a better day for Senior Day. The Wildcats topped visiting Cazenovia (8-20, 7-7 NEAC) 12 to 6 in the first game, and 8-0 in a five-inning second game amidst balmy 65-degree weather.
  • SUNYIT Sweeps Home Doubleheader with Cobleskill

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Softball Team (17-10, 11-3 NEAC) returned to their winning ways Wednesday with a sweep of visiting SUNY Cobleskill (12-14, 5-9 NEAC). The Wildcats took both games earlier in the season in a doubleheader at the Fighting Tiger’s field, and so sweep the season series 4-0.

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Wildcats (8-5, 4-0 NEAC) took two from NEAC North Division rival Morrisville State on Saturday, winning in convincing fashion by scores of 9-2 and 9-1. Designated-hitter Juleah Vedder (Dolgeville, N.Y. / Dolgeville) had a monster weekend, going 2 for 4 in both games to finish with 4 hits and 6 RBI including a grand slam in the first game.

    COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The SUNYIT women’s softball team swept a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) games over host SUNY Cobleskill at Fighting Tiger Park by scores of 9-0 and 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon. SUNYIT gets off to a good start at 2-0 in conference play (6-5 overall) while the Fighting Tigers fall to 3-7 overall (0-2 NEAC).
