  • Two Lady Wildcat Laxers Named to NEAC All-Conference Team

    GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Two SUNYIT Women’s Lacrosse players were voted 2012 NEAC All-Conference selections this week, as junior Veronica Metz (Morrisville, N.Y. / MVCC) and senior Caitlin Cottell (Eaton Town, N.J. / Red Bank Catholic High) were both named to the All-Conference Third Team. Metz, a midfielder, led the Wildcats in goals this season with 36 while also collecting 18 groundballs and winning 23 draw controls, the latter good for third on the team.   • Gritty Wildcats Survive Conference Test with Wells in 12-10 Victory

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Wildcats (3-8, 3-2 NEAC) tipped their conference record above .500 on Saturday with a hard fought home victory over the Wells College Express (3-9, 3-3 NEAC). The Wildcats took advantage of an understaffed Wells team, forcing the Express into a number of fouls that resulted in a whopping 10 free positions shots for SUNYIT, of which they converted on four.
  • Morrisville Mustangs Outrun the Wildcats 22-5

    Morrisville, N.Y. – Overall it was a swing and a miss for the lady Wildcats on Wednesday as they traveled to Morrisville State College to face off against the Mustangs. But that didn’t stop SUNYIT from stealing their shining moments. With a resilient effort from Captain Amanda Bohne and Jr. Veronica Metz, the wildcats managed to rack up five points for the team before the final whistle of the game.
  • Lax Ladies Go Toe-to-Toe with Division Two Roberts Wesleyan

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Lady Wildcats (2-7, 2-1 NEAC) put forth an impressive effort on the road against Division II Roberts Wesleyan (3-5) on Monday, testing the Raiders wire-to-wire in the 19-11 loss. SUNYIT goaltender Aubrey Campbell (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn High School) was impressive in defeat, registering 12 saves against a 31-shot barrage by the home team.

  • Tough Loss for the Wildcats Sets Them Back to 2-5 Overall

    UTICA, N.Y. – SUNYIT’s Lady Wildcats (2-5, 2-0 NEAC) made the long trip to SUNY Canton on Wednesday carrying the flame after two consecutive conference wins over Wells College and Lancaster Bible College this past weekend. But the rush of victory just wasn’t enough for the Wildcats to defeat the Kangaroos.
  • Lady Wildcats Win Second in a Row with 10-9 Victory in Overtime

    LANCASTER, P.A. – In a stark departure from the balmy weather enjoyed of late by most in the Northeast, the SUNYIT Lady Wildcats (2-4, 2-0 NEAC) battled through a cold rain for their second straight win Saturday, 10-9 in double-overtime over the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College (0-5, 0-2 NEAC).

    CHAMBERSBURG, P.A. – The Lady Wildcats (1-4, 1-0 NEAC) made history Friday night with their first win in the inaugural season for women’s lacrosse at SUNYIT, topping conference foe Wilson College (1-1) on the road, 15-8.
  • Wildcats Fall to Pioneers 16-0

    UTICA, N.Y. - SUNYIT's Lady Wildcats (0-4, 0-0) faced their cross-town rivals the Utica College Pioneers (2-1) on Wednesday. As the sun descended over Wildcat Stadium, SUNYIT fell further from the win. When the final whistle blew the Pioneers walked away with a 16-0 victory over the Wildcats.
  • Wildcats Give Raptors a Run For Their Money

    UTICA, N.Y. - SUNYIT’s Lady Wildcats (0-3, 0-0 NEAC) scuffed up their paws on Saturday in their first battle in the newly-opened Wildcat Stadium. The 2012 Women’s Lacrosse team brought back the sunshine from their previous two matches in South Carolina as the field heated up between them and the Bard College Raptors (4-0).
