Men’s Baseball Preview: Penn St.-Abington

JERKINTOWN, PA.- The SUNYIT Baseball team opens NEAC play this weekend with a 3-game series against Penn. St- Abington. The Wildcats come into the series 5-8 and are looking to bounce back from a tough 1-0 loss at the hands of St. Joseph's of Brooklyn last Sunday.

Abington comes into the game with a 6-6 record and fresh off an impressive 4-3 victory against #8 in the nation Rowan College. Last year, the Wildcats recorded a two game split with the Nittany Lions as they dropped game one 7-6 and won game two 4-3.

The Wildcats will rely on senior captain Jim Sass (Kingston, N.Y. / Kingston) as well as Kevin Rowlands (New York Mills, N.Y. / Notre Dame) to stay hot at the plate and lead the offensive attack. They will also look to Joe Redmond (Stone Ridge, N.Y. / Rondout Valley H.S.) and Jeff Albright (New York Mills, N.Y. / New York Mills H.S.), and the rest of the Wildcat pitching staff to shut down the Abington offense and lead the team to victory.

Saturday's games are scheduled for 1:00 and 3:30 pm with Sunday's 9 inning game set to start at Noon. If live stats are operational, they will be available at the following link:
