The SUNY Poly Athletic Department is excited to welcome Abin Boris as its new Athletics Communications Director. Abin will oversee all daily operations in the athletic communications department, including gameday management, post-game recaps, in-game statistics, website management, and social media posts, among other duties.
UTICA, NY – SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) is pleased to announce the hiring of John P. Czarnecki as the university’s Director of Athletics. Having spent the last five years at the helm of Hartwick College’s athletics department, Czarnecki offers both a familiarity of the Empire 8, which SUNY Poly will be joining this fall, and a track record of success in the conference.
The Empire 8 Conference is pleased to announce the addition of SUNY Polytechnic Institute, effective with the 2024-25 academic year. With the addition of the Wildcats, the E8 will be comprised of 12 members all located in New York State. The conference currently sponsors 23 NCAA Division III sports.

UTICA, N.Y. - SUNY Poly Athletics is excited to announce the unveiling of the logo at “Kevin Grimmer Court,” which will take place before the Men's Basketball home opener on November 15th at 7:00 PM. The renaming of the basketball court at the Campus Center Gym was initially announced in mid-September. It will now forever be known as "Kevin Grimmer Court." The decal featuring Kevin's name will be permanently painted onto the court during the ongoing Campus Center renovation project.
UTICA, N.Y. – On a warm September day at SUNY Poly's Campus Center Gym, history was made as the basketball court was officially dedicated to honor the remarkable career and contributions of Kevin Grimmer. Grimmer, a beloved figure in the world of collegiate athletics in the Mohawk Valley, retired in July of 2021 after nearly four decades of service to Wildcat Athletics. His journey from a part-time intramural assistant to becoming the Director of Athletics and a successful basketball coach is a testament to his dedication and passion for the game.
UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletic Department is pleased to announce the 2023 Wildcat Hall of Fame Induction Class. This year, the spotlight falls on Kevin Grimmer, the esteemed former Wildcat Athletic Director and Coach, who will become the 33rd individual inducted into the Hall of Fame. Additionally, the 2009-10 SUNYIT men’s basketball team will also be inducted. They will go down in history as the first-ever team to be inducted into the Wildcat Athletics Hall of Fame as a Team of Distinction.
UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletics Department has announced the postponement of the SUNY Poly baseball and softball games on Wednesday, April 5th. The softball doubleheader at Saint Lawerence has been postponed. A makeup date has not yet been announced. The SUNY Poly baseball home game against Russell Sage has been postponed and rescheduled for April 19th with a 4:00 PM start.

UTICA, N.Y. - The men's volleyball game between SUNY Poly and Rutgers-Newark that was supposed to take place on Saturday, March 4th, has been called off. The reason for the cancellation is the expected harsh weather conditions, which could pose a danger to the Wildcats while traveling, as a winter storm is forecasted to hit the upstate New York area tonight and continue until tomorrow.

To celebrate Veterans Day this year, we decided to take some time to catch up with Wildcat Alumna and current Air Force Technical Sergeant Megan Fowler (formerly Megan Will), who answered the call to serve during her first year at SUNY Poly and never looked back!

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletics Department announced on Thursday that Patrick Baker has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Communications and Marketing. Prior to the promotion Baker served as the Sports Information Director at SUNY Poly for seven years and was the Head Baseball Coach for the Wildcats from 2020-2022.
MARCY, N.Y. - SUNY Poly Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Paul Ludden as Head Baseball Coach for the Wildcats. Ludden comes to SUNY Poly from Cazenovia College where he was the Head Baseball Coach for three seasons. In his role at SUNY Poly, Paul will also serve as the Assistant for Sports Communications. Paul is the fourth Head Baseball Coach in the history of SUNY Poly.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Jeff Hallenbeck as the Head Coach for Wildcat women’s soccer. Hallenbeck started his employment at SUNY Poly on August 15th. Prior to his hiring at SUNY Poly, Hallenbeck was the Head Men’s Soccer Coach (2019-2021) and the Associate Head Women's Soccer Coach (2019, 2021) at Hilbert College. Coach Hallenbeck is the 10th Head Women’s Soccer Coach in the history of Wildcat Athletics.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s and women’s cross country schedules for 2022 have been officially released. This year's schedule features seven meets including a pair of home races and the NAC Championship Meet at SUNY Canton.

MARCY, N.Y. - SUNY Poly junior guard Molly Burdick competed for the USA D-III team in the USA Sports & Tours 2022 Womans Basketball Brazilian Tour. Burdick's travels with the small group of Division III student-athletes took her all over Brazil over the nine days of travel.
WATERVILLE, Maine - SUNY Poly student-athletes had a great showing this year on the North Atlantic Conference’s (NAC 2021-22 Winter/Spring All-Academic Team. 31 Wildcats were featured on the list, a list that contains the best of the best student-athletes academically from NAC’s 12 member institutions.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletics Department is pleased to announce the addition of a varsity mixed golf team starting in the fall of 2022. The team will compete in the North Atlantic Conference and in NCAA DIII. Both male and female golfers will Have the opportunity to participate on the team, and the team will initially plan to compete in the fall season. The NAC Championship is sponsored in the fall whereas the NCAA Championship is sponsored in the spring.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) is working with the local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace to help local children. This organization builds beds and supplies bedding to local youth who currently do not have a bed to sleep on. The program's volunteers build twin beds and deliver those beds and donated bedding to families in need in our local area.

The women's game at Hartwick has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, March 10th at 6:00 PM. The game will be played at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field. The SUNY Poly men’s soccer team will host three games this weekend to determine the NAC West Division Champion. The men’s and women’s cross country teams will be competing in the NAC Championship Meet this Saturday at Thomas. The women’s volleyball and women’s soccer teams will both be heading to SUNY Delhi on Saturday for NAC Quarterfinal games with Cobleskill and Delhi respectively.
