CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Women's Lacrosse Team (12-3, 8-1 NEAC) continued to make history as they advanced to their first NEAC Championship in program history. The Wildcats used an impressive second half to propel past Morrisville St. (9-9, 8-1 NEAC) in the second NEAC Semi-Final held at Cazenovia College on Saturday afternoon.

Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) and Meghan Serota (Black River, N.Y. / Carthage HS) each had three goals and an assist to lead SUNY Poly. The duo also combined for nine draw controls helping the Wildcats edge the Mustangs 13-9 overall in that category.

Morrisville won the opening draw of the game and instantly applied pressure to the Wildcat defense, scoring only 17 seconds into the game. SUNY Poly got on the board six minutes later when Beha scored her first of the day on an unassisted tally. Five minutes later, both teams scored a goal 25 seconds apart to tie things at 2s. The Mustangs would take the lead again at 3-2 a minute later, which sparked a 12 minute scoring drought for both teams. Serota put an end to that when she finished a Beha feed to tie the game for the third time of the half with 5:20 to play. It looked as if the 3-3 tie would hold up until halftime when Morrisville scored two goals over the final minute and a half to take the 5-3 lead at the break.

The Mustangs continued their run when they scored with 26:33 left to play to extend their lead to three. However, that would be the last goal they would score for the next 24 minutes. SUNY Poly took over the half, including the draw, and scored seven unanswered goals to put the game away. Corrina Marconi (Rochester, N.Y. / Gates-Chili HS) struck first, firing home a free position shot. The sophomore had another free position attempt six minutes later to spark a four goal run in just two minutes and 16 seconds. After Marconi's score, Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y. / Carthage HS) found three different teammates to take the 8-6 lead with 17:16 to play. Both teams went on to score two more goals in the final ten minutes with Poly extending their lead to 10-6 before the Mustangs got back on the board.

Ames also finished with four points, adding a goal to her three second-half assists. Marconi finished with two goals while Nicole DiPiazza (Colonie, N.Y. / Colonie HS) chipped in one.

Beha had an impressive day all over the field as well, adding game-highs of eight ground balls and three caused turnovers. Megan Will improved to 8-2 in goal turning away eight of 16 shots.

SUNY Poly returns to action tomorrow when they take on Cazenovia at 1:00 for the NEAC Tournament Championship at Caz. The Wildcats are looking to bring home their first NEAC Championship with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
