MVB: James Mion Named to All Conference First-Team

Utica, N.Y. - Senior James Mion was selected to the New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) All-Conference First Team following a spectacular campaign. The middle blocker from Glenville, N.Y. is the sole Wildcat to be honored. 

In his final season as a Wildcat, Mion played a total of 98 sets over 28 matches. In that time, Mion picked up 201 kills on 374 attacks, equaling a near .50 kill percentage. Mion would also add 42 digs and 13 service aces to his stat sheet. The most impressive feat for Mion this season has to do with blocks. Over the course of the 30 game season, Mion totaled 36 block assists and 40 solo blocks. With those numbers, Mion stands alone as the SUNY Poly leader in solo blocks with 75. In his three years as a Wildcats, Mion compiled 490 kills, 71 service aces, 110 digs, 75 solo blocks 140 block assists and 706 points. 

The Wildcats finished the year 14-16, making it as far as the second round of the NEVC playoffs.
