MVB: Wildcats Drop Matches To Nazareth and Lasell.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's volleyball team competed in a tri-match at Nazareth College on Friday night. The Wildcats played both Nazareth in the first match and then played Lasell in the second match. The Wildcats lost the first match with Nazareth 3-0, before losing to Lasell 3-0.

GAME 1: 

In the first match against Nazareth, the Wildcats dropped the first set 25-17. Nazareth's offense was clocking in set 1, completing 42% of their attacks. The Wildcats threatened in the second set, going on a few runs to keep the sets close, but would ultimately lose the set 25-20. The Wildcats offense would struggle in the third set, and Nazareth would win the set 25-17 to win the match in straight sets.

Jason Aubrey and Peter Gottler led the Wildcats offense in kills, while Joshua Slater had 16 assists. Brendan Palmer led the team with 7 digs.

For Nazareth, Owen Wickens led the team with 15 kills while also adding in 7 digs.

GAME 2:

In the second match against Lasell, the Wildcats would let up a 7-point run after being down 6-4 early. The deficit would be too much to overcome as Lasell would take the first set 25-14. The second set was much tighter early on, with the Wildcats going on a 6-0 run to cut the score to 15-14. Lasell would answer with a run of their own, ultimately winning the set 25-17. In the third set, there were multiple lead changes and the match would go down to the last point. After a kill from Dylan Acampora, the Wildcats would take a 23-22 lead as they looked to win their first set of the day. Lasell would answer with 3 straight points, however, and win the set 25-23, and win in straight sets 3-0.
