MVB: Wildcats Improve to 3-1 in NECC Play With a 3-1 Win Over Johnson.

JOHNSON, VT. - The SUNY Poly's men's volleyball team traveled to Northern Vermont-Johnson on Sunday for a NECC match. SUNY Poly won the match 3-1, with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, and 25-19. SUNY Poly's record improved to 6-10 overall and 2-1 in conference play, while Northern Vermont-Johnson's record fell to 9-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

 

SUNY Poly started strong, taking the first set 25-20. They continued their momentum into the second set, winning 25-23. However, Northern Vermont-Johnson did not go down without a fight, winning the third set 25-23. SUNY Poly regained their composure in the fourth set and took the set and the match with a score of 25-19.

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • Kohei Clark had a match-high seven kills, a pair of aces, a team-high seven digs, a block solo, and a block assist.
  • Nate Jennings had six kills, a pair of aces, and three digs.
  • James Mion had five kills and six digs.
  • Nathan Farnham had four kills, a pair of aces, and 29 assists.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will host Nichols on Saturday in a NECC game at the Campus Center Gym. The game will be SUNY Poly's senior day. Before the game, SUNY Poly will hold a short ceremony pre-game to honor the 2023 Senior Class. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 PM start.
