MVB: Wildcats Earn NECC Win Over Lesley.

UTICA, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly Men's Volleyball team secured a dominant 3-0 victory against Lesley University at the Wildcat Field House on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats dominated the match, with scores of 25-12, 25-8, and 25-14. The win improves SUNY Poly's record to 3-10, while Lesley drops to 0-5.

 

SUNY Poly took the lead early in the first set with Jason Aubrey, Jack Mitchell, and Nate Jennings delivering powerful attacks. The team went on to dominate the rest of the match, with Jennings finishing the game with a match-high of eight kills. Joshua Slater, the Wildcats' setter, also made a significant contribution, tallying 28 assists and 16 aces.

 

Lesley struggled to keep up with SUNY Poly's offense, with Michael Maimone being the only player on the team to record a kill. Sean Pugatch led Lesley with three digs.

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • Joshua Slater of SUNY Poly had an impressive game, recording 16 aces and 28 assists for the Wildcats.
  • SUNY Poly's Nate Jennings of SUNY Poly had eight kills and four aces.
  • Peter Gottler had 7 kills and 4 aces for the Wildcats.
  • SUNY Poly dominated at the service line, recording a total of 31 aces compared to Lesley's two.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday, March 18th when they travel to Albany to take on the Russell Sage Gators in NECC play and Emmanuel in non-conference play. The first game is scheduled for a 12:00 PM start. Their second match will be played at 2:00 PM.
