MVB: Wildcats Open NECC Play on Friday With a Loss to Eastern Nazarene.

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's volleyball team lost to Eastern Nazarene 3-1 in a closely contested matchup on Friday evening. The set scores were 25-16, 25-22, 26-24, 25-23. The Wildcats are now 3-10 with a 0-1 record in NECC play. Eastern Nazarene improved to 10-9 and 1-0 in NECC play.

 

The Lions started the match strongly, winning the first set 25-16, before SUNY Poly bounced back in the second set to tie the game 1-1 with a 25-22 victory. Eastern Nazarene dug deep in the third set to edge out SUNY Poly 26-24, putting them in the driver's seat for the rest of the match. The Lions then closed out the match in the fourth set with a 25-23 victory to secure the win.

 

Alejandro Garcia Fernandez led the way for Eastern Nazarene, registering 14 kills and four digs while Delfy Soler recorded 10 kills and four digs. Aaron Huang also had a solid game, contributing 15 assists and one service ace.

 

For SUNY Poly, Kohei Clark stood out with 16 kills and two blocks while Jason Aubrey added nine kills and seven digs. Nathan Farnham recorded 33 assists and seven digs for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats will take on Lesley on Saturday at the Wildcat Field House. The match is scheduled for an 11:00 AM start. It will be streamed live on the SUNY Poly Sports Network (SPSN).
