MVB: Wildcat’s Earn First NECC Win of the Season 3-0 Over Sage and Raise over $1,900 for Go4TheGoal Foundation.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's volleyball team earned their first New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) win of the season with a 3-0 win over Sage College. The Wildcats won the first set 25-17, the second set 25-15, and the third set 25-12. The 'Cats hit .493 as a team and had eight aces and 14 total blocks to earn the three-set win.  

 

The Wildcat's annual Go4TheGoal game raises funds to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial support, developing and implementing unique hospital programs, funding innovative research, and granting personal wishes. This season the Wildcats beat their $1,000 dollar goal raising over $1,900 for the Foundation.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • Garrett Hassard had a huge game. He had a game-high 12 kills on 16 swings, had a game-high three solo blocks, and had three block assists. 

  • Matthew Russo had nine kills a block solo, a block assist, and a dig. 

  • Tayvon Ward had seven kills and three block assists. 

  • Nathan Farnham had 33 assists, a game-high five service aces, two digs, and four kills. 

  • Jason Aubrey and James Mion each had six kills. 

  • Deshawn Fleary had a team-high three kills for the Gators.

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will head to Eastern Nazarene on Friday, March 11th to take on the Lions in a NECC contest. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 PM start.
