ALBANY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's volleyball team earned their third win of the season on Thursday night 3-0 over the Sage College Gators. The Wildcats hit .271 as a team and got a big performance out of Senior Matt Russo who had match-highs in kills and aces and hit .524. The Wildcats are now 3-10 this season and have won two of their last three matches. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

The Wildcats had a .200 advantage over the Gators and had seven more aces as a team. Five Wildcats had five or more kills in the match and four players hit over .333. Matt Russo led the way for the Wildcats with a match-high 13 kills, a match-high three service aces,  and three digs. The final set scores for the match were 25-19, 25-18, 25-20. 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

• Matt Russo had his best game of the season. He had 13 kills on 21 swings for a .524 hitting percentage. He led all players at the serving line with three aces. 

• Garrett Hassard had a team-high hitting percentage (.625) with five kills on eight swings. He also had a solo block. 

• James Mion had seven kills, two aces, and a solo block. He hit .333 in the match. 

• Kohei Clark also had seven kills for the Wildcats. He led the team with eight digs and had a service ace. 

• Nathan Farnham had a match-high 35 assists for Poly. He also had a pair of aces, a pair of block assists, and a kill. 

• Jason Aubrey had five kills and four digs in the match. 

• Deshawn Fleary led the Gator's attack with seven kills on 20 swings. He also had an ace and two digs. 

• Mikhail Hailu had a team-best .429 hitting percentage with four kills on seven swings.
