MVB: Wildcats Earn First Win of The Season 3-0 at Home Over Russell Sage.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's volleyball team won at home on Wednesday 3-0 over Russell Sage 25-11, 25-17, 25-21. The Wildcats hit .388 as a team in the match and had a dominant 13 service aces en route to their first win of the young season. The Wildcats are now 1-6 on the year. 

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

  • Jason Aubrey led all players with a match-high 10 kills on a match-high 22 swings. The 10 kills is a career-high for the first year. Aubrey also had a service ace, four digs, and a block assist for the 'Cats.

  • James Mion hit an impressive .429 for the Wildcats with nine kills on 14 swings. He tied teammate Mitchell Cole with a match-high four service aces. Mion also had a solo block. 

  • Garrett Hassard had five kills, a solo block, and a match-high three block assists.

  • Nathan Farnham paced the Wildcat offense with 31 assists, his highest total this season. Farnham also had three kills, three aces, and three digs.

  • Deshawn Fleary had a team-high five kills for the Russell Sage Gators. He also had a team-high eight digs and a team-high three aces.

The Wildcats will host Wells College on Wednesday, February 2nd at 6:00 PM in a single non-conference match. The match will be streamed live on the SUNY Poly Sports Network (SPSN).
