MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's volleyball team hosted Lancaster Bible and Medaille College on Saturday in the Wildcats first tri-match at home of the 2020 season. The Wildcats took on Lancaster Bible in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) match in the 12:00 PM match and took on Medaille in a non-conference match at 4:00. The Wildcats lost both matches, the first 0-3 to the Chargers and the second 2-3 to the Mavericks. The Wildcats record for the season now sits at 4-9.
LANCASTER BIBLE (0-3):
The Wildcats lost to Lancaster Bible College in Saturday's first match in three straight sets 21-25, 11-25, 18-25. Lancaster Bible hit a strong .284 compared to the Wildcats hitting .123 as a team. Garrett Hassard (Oneonta, N.Y.) led the Wildcats with eight kills in the match. He added a service ace and three blocks as well. Connor Schultz (Lancaster, N.Y.) added seven kills for SUNY poly with six digs and a block. Matthew Russo (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) also tacked on 5 kills in the team's loss. Nate Miller, Benjamin Herb, and Kole Horst each had eight kills in the match for Lancaster Bible. Miller also had six digs and three service aces to lead his team to the win.
MEDAILLE (2-3):
The SUNY Poly men's volleyball team continued Saturday with a five-set loss to Medaille 24-26, 25-22, 28-30, 25-23, 7-15. The Wildcats took the second and fourth set of the match to force a deciding set but dug themselves an 8-1 hole in the fifth that was too deep to dig out of. Nathan Farnham (Penfield, N.Y.) had 39 assists for the Wildcats with three kills and seven digs in the five-set battle. Connor Shultz (Lancaster, N.Y.) led his team with a game-high 16 kills. Jacob Vergari (Brockport N.Y.) had 7 digs and added an assist. Matthew Russo (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) had a game-high 11 digs with six kills. Shawn Barbalato had a team-high 11 kills for the Mavericks. Malachi Jackson hit a team high .545 with seven kills on 11 swings. Jake Siwy had a match-high 45 assists for Medaille.

The Wildcats will take on the Wilson College Phoenix on Sunday, February 16th at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field House. The NEAC match will start at 1:00 PM.
