MVB: Wildcats Beaten in Five Sets in First NEAC Game of the Season.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's volleyball team (5-10, 0-1 NEAC) was beaten in five sets on Saturday by the Wells College Express (11-5, 1-0 NEAC). The Wildcats went down 0-2, but battled back in the third to earn a long fought 31-29 win in the third. The Wildcats would win the fourth set 25-22, but lost the deciding set 11-15. The game was the first conference matchup for both the Wildcats and Express.

Ryan Gloff (Brockport, N.Y.) led the Wildcats with 23 kills on 51 swings. The 23 kills is a career high for the junior. His highest total before today was 21 against Hilbert in his freshman year. Gloff also had two service aces, a solo block, and two block assists.

Zach Goggin (Feeding Hills, Mass.) had a season high 43 assists in the game. He also had four kills, 10 digs, and a pair of block assists.

Max Szuba (Irondequoit, N.Y.) had 10 kills and 11 digs in the match.

Express setter Josh Undari had a match high 60 assists and 10 digs. Brandon Perdichio had a match high 25 kills on 64 swings. He also had 13 digs and a service ace. Robert Patzer had 15 kills and seven digs. Caden O'Loughlin had 12 kills and a team high 13 digs.
