 GENESEO, N.Y. - In a women's volleyball matchup held at Geneseo's Carl Schrader Gymnasium on Tuesday night, SUNY Geneseo secured a three-set victory (25-10, 25-13, 25-15) over SUNY Poly. 

 

The SUNY Geneseo Knights displayed a strong performance on their home court, showcasing solid teamwork and execution. They maintained control throughout the match, making it a challenging contest for SUNY Poly. 

 

Tori Tripp led the way for the Knights with six kills and an impressive hitting percentage of .600. Madison Baumann contributed five kills with a hitting percentage of .222. Geneseo's serves and blocks added to their dominance on the court. 

 

SUNY Poly faced difficulties in finding their rhythm against a formidable Geneseo squad. Their offensive efforts were distributed among players like Grace Southwick, Brennah Durfee, Aeron Hamm, and Meghan Peek, but they struggled collectively with a hitting percentage of -.136. Samantha Dee provided three assists as the setter, but Geneseo's defense proved tough to crack. 

 

Geneseo's consistency was evident in their convincing wins in all three sets. Their solid performance, particularly from Tripp and Baumann, played a crucial role in securing the victory. 

 

With this win, SUNY Geneseo improved to 2-5 for the season, while SUNY Poly's record dropped to 0-4.

The Wildcats will travel to Utica University to take on the Pioneers in non-conference action. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13th at 7:00 PM.
