WVB: Wildcats Wrap up Weekend Slate at Plattsburgh.

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team faced a tough challenge against Plattsburgh State and Sage College on September 2. Despite a solid effort, the Wildcats came up short in a four-set match against Plattsburgh and a three-set match against Sage, falling to 0-3 on the season.

 


 

GAME 1:

SUNY Poly -1

Plattsburgh St. - 3

[25-20, 25-7, 24-26, 25-6]

 

SUNY Poly's Brennah Durfee led the Wildcats with 10 digs and four kills, while Samantha Dee added 10 digs and a block assist.

 

Despite their best efforts, the Wildcats couldn't find their rhythm, facing difficulties with their attack throughout the match. Plattsburgh State's strong defense and well-executed serves (17 aces) kept SUNY Poly at bay. Iris Mulvey led all players with nine kills and a hitting percentage of .467.

 


 

GAME 2:

SUNY Poly -0

Sage - 3

[25-8, 25-16, 25-10]

 

Sage College displayed strong offensive and defensive play throughout the match, making it a tough contest for the SUNY Poly Wildcats. Sage's Allison Louque led her team with an impressive 12 kills, contributing significantly to the win.

 

For SUNY Poly, Ryan Fitzgerald led the charge with four kills and six digs. Brennah Durfee had a team-high seven digs for the Wildcats. Despite their efforts, the Wildcats struggled to find their rhythm and couldn't overcome Sage's solid performance.

 


 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will host the Wells College Express on Tuesday, September 5th. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field House.
