WVB: Wildcats Raise $570 for Side-Out Foundation’s Dig Pink in Four Set Win Over Wells.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team beat Wells on Wednesday night in four sets. The Wildcats partnered up with the Side-Out Foundation for a Dig Pink event to raise money for breast cancer research. The Wildcats raised $570 through an online fundraiser and a basket raffle. The Wildcats won the first, third, and fourth sets in the match to ultimately win 17-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-18. The win improves SUNY Poly's season record to 7-13. 

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

  • Brennah Durfee led the Wildcats with 10 kills on 38 swings. Durfee also had five digs in the match. 

  • Emma Draper had seven kills in the match. She also had 16 digs, three solo blocks, a block assist, and a service ace. 

  • Kaley Pichura had 30 assists, hit a match-high .217 with five kills, had a pair of service aces, five digs, and a block assist. 

  • Ryan Fitzgerald had six kills and six digs for the Wildcats. 

  • Michaela Bradshaw had 16 digs and a service ace for the Wildcats. 

  • Makenzie Drown had a team-high 10 kills for the Wells College Express. 

  • Roosa Armstead-Lehti had a match-high 31 digs for Wells. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will head to SUNY Delhi for a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) tri-match with Delhi and SUNY Cobleskill. The Wildcats will play Cobleskill at 1:00 PM and Delhi at 3:00 PM. The matches are the Wildcat's last NAC contests of the season.
