MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Women's Volleyball team defeated local rival Utica College for the second time this season on Thursday night (25-18, 20-25, 25-18, 25-17). Makayla Hulett (Colonie, N.Y.) led the Wildcats with a career-high 23 kills to go along with 13 digs and three block assists. The win brings the Wildcats to an 8-12 overall record.

NOTABLES:

• Kaley Pichura (Syracuse, N.Y.) finished the match with 50 assists, one shy of her season-high. She also had 12 digs, two service aces, and three kills.
• Karlie King (Liverpool, N.Y.) totaled 13 kills, 11 digs, and three service aces.
• Emma Draper (North Chili, N.Y.) recorded 10 kills, two service aces, and three block assists.
• Shannon McIntyre (New Berlin, N.Y.) had a match-high 19 digs.
• Meaghan Romaguera led Utica College with six kills and 15 digs on the evening.

SUNY Poly Head Coach Juleah Wanner had this to say after the win; "We put together a balanced attack against Utica College. It was nice to see the offense clicking. We will look to continue that through conference play this weekend and the rest of the season.

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday October 19th when they host two NEAC foes in the Wildcat Fieldhouse. SUNY Poly will face off against Penn College at 12:00PM, followed by a match against Penn State Berks at 2:00PM. Both matches have serious playoff implications for SUNY Poly. The Wildcats are currently in eighth place in the NEAC standings with four remaining conference matches. The Wildcats must finish in the top six to reach the postseason.
