WVB: SUNY Poly Takes Down NEAC Foe Cazenovia in Five.

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Women's Volleyball team traveled to Cazenovia on Wednesday for their second conference match of the season. The Wildcats came away with the victory in five sets (21-25, 25-23, 25-18, 18-25, 15-11). Junior Karlie King (Liverpool, N.Y.) led the way for the Wildcats as she totaled 21 kills, five service aces and 14 digs. SUNY Poly moves to 5-8 overall and 2-0 in NEAC play with the win.

 

NOTABLES:

 

  • Kaley Pichura (Syracuse, N.Y.) set a new career high in the match with 51 assists. She added four service aces and 10 digs.

  • Makayla Hulett (Colonie, N.Y.) had nine kills and 14 digs on the evening.

  • Shannon McIntyre (New Berlin, N.Y.) led SUNY Poly with 20 digs.

  • Kyla Smoke led Cazenovia with eight kills on the night.

  • The match marks the first time this season that SUNY Poly has gone to five sets.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats look to continue their winning ways on Saturday in their home opener. SUNY Poly will host NEAC rival Morrisville in the Wildcat Fieldhouse. The match is set to begin at 11:00 am.
