WSOC: Wildcats Earn a NEAC Win Over Lancaster Bible on Senior Day.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team earned a 3-1 win on Saturday on the Wildcats annual senior game. The Wildcats got out to a quick lead, scoring three goals in the first half. Prior to the game the three seniors from this year's team M'Kenzie Bradshaw (Oswego, N.Y.), Samantha Rishe (Ogdensburg, N.Y.), and Devin Baratto (Valley Stream, N.Y.) were honored before the game with a short ceremony.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

Shannon Harrison (Holland Patent, N.Y.) got the scoring started for the Wildcats in the 4th minute with a goal off a Sarah George (Dolgeville, N.Y.) assist. George would add to her stat line in the 16th minute, scoring the Wildcat's second goal. In the 27th minute, Shannon Harrison netted her second goal of the game off an assist by Elizabeth Lawrence (Boonville, N.Y.). Felicia Bianca (Guilderland, N.Y.) played a solid game in goal for SUNY Poly. She recorded three saves and allowed just one goal. Lancaster Bible had a few opportunities to score late in the second half but the Wildcat defense held strong to secure the Wildcats seventh win of the season. 

 

NOTABLES: 

  • Shannon Harrison added four points to her season total with two goals. She leads the Wildcats this season with 32 points. She is fourth in the NEAC in points. 

  • Sarah George had three points on a goal and an assist. She has 21 points this season. 

  • Elizabeth Lawrence notched her eighth point of the season with an assist in the game. It was her fourth assist this year. 

  • Felicia Bianca earned her sixth win of the season. She made three saves, bringing her season total to 65. 

  • Bryanna Hoover scored the lone goal for Lancaster Bible. She was assisted by Jackie Moore on the goal. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will hit the road for a two-game set in Pennsylvania next weekend. The Wildcats are scheduled to wrap their season up with a game at Penn State Harrisburg on Friday and a game at Penn State Abington on Saturday. Friday's game is scheduled for a 2:00 PM start. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
