Wildcats Fall To Nittany Lions 2-1 in NEAC Conference game

HORSHAM, Pa. – The SUNYIT Women's Soccer team squared off with Penn. State Abington in a NEAC Conference match on Saturday. Despite their best efforts, the Wildcats were unable to emerge victorious as they were held scoreless in the second half facing a 2-1 deficit. 

The first half of the match was an active one as Abington got out in front 1-0 in the 14th minute on a goal by Megan Murphy. The Nittany Lions scored again in the 40th minute to get out to a 2-0 lead. The Wildcats were able to push across a goal before the half in the 44th minute on an unassisted goal by Senior Forward Kristina Strang (Rotterdam, N.Y. / Schalmont). In the second half, Abington got the job done defensively and was able to keep the Wildcats off the scoreboard to secure the victory in regulation.  

With the Loss, The Wildcats record goes to (2-3-0, 2-1-0 NEAC) and Abington improves to (4-2-0, 3-1-0 NEAC). The Wildcats will be in action again on Tuesday as they take on cross town rival Utica College at home. The game is set to begin at 7:00pm under the lights at the Wildcat Field House Soccer Field.
