Second Half Wildcat Comeback Falls Short in 9-5 Loss to Bard

RED HOOK, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women's Lacrosse Team (0-3, 0-0 NEAC) turned in their most competitive contest of the young season, outscoring the Bard Raptors 4-2 in the second half during a 9-5 loss on Friday night.

The Raptors hung 7 goals on the Wildcats in the first half, as Stephanie LaMont got loose for 4 scores and Joanna Regan added 3.

With 3:38 remaining in the first half, Jenna Lashua (Heuvelton, N.Y. / Heuvelton High School) scored SUNYIT's first goal. Lashua would add another score in the second half, leading the Wildcats in scoring with 2 goals.

SUNYIT will next take the field in their first home game on Wednesday, March 27th. The Wildcats will host the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton in a 5:00 pm contest.
