WBB: Four Wildcats Earn NEAC All-Conference Selections.

LATHAM, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2019-20 Women's Basketball All-Conference selections, honoring the top 18 players in the league regardless of position. The First, Second and Third Team are each comprised of six players as selected by the conference coaches. The three individual award winners are also determined by coaches' votes. Wildcats Molly Burdick (Johnson City, N.Y.) and Jaida Washington (Elmira, N.Y.) were named to the First Team. Taylor Aybar (Woodside, N.Y.) and Kiersten Leos (North Bay, N.Y.) were Second Team selections.

 

Molly Burdick averaged a team-best 14.5 points, eight rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game this season. Burdick was top five in the NEAC in field goal percentage and rebounding and was 11th in points per game. The First-Team selection is Burdick's second in as many seasons.

 

Jaida Washington had an outstanding defensive season for SUNY Poly. The senior had 77 total blocks this season which was the best in the NEAC by an astounding 44 blocks. Washington averaged a career-best 12.5 points and eight rebounds per game this season. She also joined the 1,000 point club this season combined from her time at TC3 and SUNY Poly. 

 

Taylor Aybar was the offensive Catalyst for the Wildcats this season. The pure point averaged a team-best 4.4 assists per game, a career-high 3.1 steals per game, 6.9 points per game, and 4-4 rebounds per game. It was the second NEAC All-Conference selection of her career. 

 

Kiersten Leos had a solid senior season for the Wildcats. The reigning NEAC Tournament MVP ranked top five in the NEAC in three-point shooting percentage and was top 10 in three-pointers made. Leos averaged 8.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2-4 assists per game. The All-Conference selection is Leos's third in her career.
