ABINGTON, Pa. - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team improved to 3-0 in NEAC play with Saturday's win over Penn State Abington. The Wildcats jumped out to an early 10 point lead in the first quarter behind a seven-point quarter by Taylor Ann Day (). The second and third quarter was tightly played with Abington fighting back to take the lead late in the third. The Wildcats put the game away in the forth with a dominating 15 point advantage in the quarter. The final score was 72-59. The Wildcats are now 5-7 with a 3-0 NEAC record.

 

NOTABLES:

  • Jaida Washington (Elmira, N.Y.) had her second double-double of the season, scoring a team-high 18 points and pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds. Washington also had a pair of blocks in the game.
  • Molly Burdick (Johnson City, N.Y.) had 14 points in the game. She also had six rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
  • Taylor Ann Day (Brooktondale, N.Y.) had 16 points in 24 minutes off the bench for the Wildcats. She shot 58% from the field and had six rebounds.
  • Kiersten Leos (North Bay, N.Y.) and Taylor Aybar (Woodside, N.Y.) both had nine points. Aybar had a team-high three assists. Leos had a game-high three steals.
  • Sydney Barrow had a game-high 19 points for the Nittany Lions. She also had 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
  • Lacy MacLachlin had 12 points and two rebounds for Abington.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will travel to NEAC rival Cazenovia on Wednesday, January 15th. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 PM.
