WBB: Strong Second Half Gives Wildcats Win Number 20.

BRYN ATHYN, PA. – The SUNY Poly women's basketball team improved to 20-2 on the year with a North Eastern Athletic Conference win over Bryn Athyn 77-62. The Wildcats trailed for much of the game, but a strong second half secured the win for the Cats'.

The Wildcats trailed the Lions by nine at the half after a slow start. The team would need a big comeback in the second to pull off the win and they did just that with a 27-19 third quarter to bring the game within one headed into the fourth.

The Wildcats and the Lions were tied with just six minutes remaining in the game. The Wildcats, determined to earn their 14th conference win of the year, went on a 17-2 run in the last six minutes securing the win.

Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored five points in 25 seconds to break the tie in the fourth. She ended up scoring a game high 28 points in the win. The senior also had five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the game.

Khristajiah Jackson (Levittown, Pa.) had her ninth double-double of the season. She finished the game with 23 points, 13 rebounds, two blocks, two steals, and an assist.

Taylor Aybar (Woodside, N.Y.) had a game high five steals in the game. She also had a team high six assists, 11 points, and eight rebounds in the game.

For the Lions, Samantha Hicks had a team high 20 points and a team high six assists. Kristina Clark had a game high 15 rebounds and 16 points. Sarah Elizabeth Atunrase had a game high seven blocks.

The Wildcats are now 20-2 on the year and are 14-1 in the NEAC. The Wildcats will take on Penn State Abington on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
