WBB: Wildcats Suffer First NEAC Loss of the Season at the Hands of Lancaster Bible.

LANCASTER, PA - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team lost their first NEAC Conference game of the season on Friday to Lancaster Bible 78-69. The women showed a ton of heart and determination to fight all the way back from a 21 point halftime deficit to make the game interesting. The Wildcats got within two points of Lancaster with just five minutes remaining, but after some costly turnovers would ultimately come up short.

Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y. / Fabius-Pompey HS) did everything that she could to spark the Wildcat offense. She had a season high 28 points, hit four 3-pointer, and had an impressive five steals in the game. Ray also hit the boards for five rebounds, dished out two assists, and snagged a steal in the game.

Geena Gallo (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa HS) gave the Wildcats a 14 point performance in the game. She also grabbed eight rebounds, had an assist, a steal, and a block in the game.   

For the Chargers, Aubrey Folgers led the way with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Shanice Smith led all rebounders with 17 boards, six of which were on the offensive side of the ball.

With the loss, the Wildcats are now 14-1 in the NEAC. The team will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Penn State Berks to take on the Nittany Lions. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
