WBB: Charbonneau and Knowles Record Double-Doubles to Beat Cazenovia 82-63.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team hosted Cazenovia this Wednesday for SUNY Poly's senior day. Before the game SUNY Poly honored the two 1000 point scorers; Geena Gallo (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa HS) and Lauren Knowles (Salisbury Mills, N.Y. / Washingtonville HS) with a trophy to honor their achievement. The Wildcats also honored the teams five seniors Emily Alicea (Mohegan Lake, N.Y. / Lakeland HS), Geena Gallo, Lauren Knowles, Erika Charbonneau (Boonville, N.Y. / Adirondack HS), and Laura Kaczmarczyk (Endicott, N.Y. / Union Endicott HS) with a short ceremony. After the ceremony, the Wildcats went right to business, their sights set on a win over Cazenovia. SUNY Poly made a statement in the first quarter by going up by 21 after a 30 point quarter. The lead would hold and SUNY Poly would end up with a 82-63 win to stay undefeated in NEAC play.

Geena Gallo led the way for the Wildcats with 20 points, nine rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal. Her fellow 1000 point scorer also had a big game for the Wildcats. Lauren Knowles nearly recorded a triple double. She had 14 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in 31 minutes of play. Lauren also had a pair of blocks and a pair of steals in the game.

Erika Charbonneau had a solid game for the Wildcats. She recorded her first double-double of the season, scoring a season high 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Erika also had three steals, three blocks, and two assists in the Wildcat win.

The five seniors got the opportunity to finish the game on the floor together for what will be their last regular season game on the floor at SUNY Poly's Campus Center Gym.

With the win the Wildcats improve their record to 17-4 (14-0 NEAC). They currently sit atop the NEAC standings. They will be back in action this Friday when they travel to Lancaster Bible to take on the South Division leaders who are currently 14-1 in the NEAC. The game can be watched live HERE.
