MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's basketball got the revenge they were looking for against Penn State Abington; the team that ended their NEAC Playoff run just a season ago. The Wildcats did it in fashion, letting their game do the talking. The team got out to a big lead early by playing efficient offence and lockdown defense. The Wildcats held the Nittany Lions to single digit scoring in all four quarters, allowing just 28 points in the game. The Wildcat offence exploded for 82 points in the game including 30 in the first quarter and 27 in the second. The final score was 82-28.

Lauren Knowles (Salisbury Mills, N.Y. / Washingtonville HS) led the way for the Wildcats with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and a steal. With the 16 point performance she now sits just 21 points away from 1000 in her career. Paige Gallo (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa HS) was a huge part of the Wildcats fast start as she scored the team's first 11 points; hitting three 3-pointers and a layup in the first three minutes of the game. Paige ended up with 16 points. She shot 75% from the field and 67% from three point land (4-6).

Shayna Rodriguez had 12 points for Abington. She had the team's first 12 points of the game. She also had three rebounds in the game, two of which were offensive.

The Wildcats improve to 12-0 in NEAC play. The Wildcats will host Bryn Athyn on Sunday in a NEAC Conference match-up. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 PM tip-off.
