WBB: Gallo Scores Her 1000th Point in Wildcat Win Over St. Elizabeth.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team traveled to New Jersey on Sunday to take on St Elizabeth in a NEAC Conference game. The game was not only won by SUNY Poly 71-54, it carried great importance for senior forward Geena Gallo (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa HS) who scored her 1000th career point in the third minute of the first quarter. The SUNY Poly community would like to congratulate Geena for joining an elite group of 1000 point scorers at SUNY Poly.

Geena Gallo not only hit a career milestone in the game, but went on to have a good all-around game. She finished up with 14 points, four assists, three rebounds, and a steal in the game. She shot 60 percent from the field and went 2-3 from the free throw line in her 28 minutes of work.

Lauren Knowles (Salisbury Mills, N.Y. / Washingtonville HS) led all scorers in the game with 17 points. She also had seven rebounds, three steals, and a block. Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y. / Fabius-Pompey HS) added 12 points to the mix and grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists, and had three steals.

The Eagles had three players score 11 points in the game; Amerisse Rogers, Deja Ingram, and Jasmine Poole. Rogers had three rebounds, two steals, and two assists to go along with her 11. Ingram had five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Poole had five rebounds, six assists, and two steals off the bench.

The Wildcats improve to 13-4 (10-0 NEAC) with the win. The team will be back in action on Wednesday when they host division rival Morrisville State. The game is set to tip-off at 7:00 PM at SUNY Poly's Campus Center Gym. Live Stats will be available HERE.
