COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team earned their ninth consecutive NEAC win of the season on the road at Cobleskill on Saturday. The women took the lead on the first shot of the game and never looked back. The Wildcats never conceded the lead to the Fighting Tigers ultimately ending up with a 68-60 win.

Geena Gallo (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa HS) continued her hunt for 1000 career points with a game high 24 point performance that saw her shoot 50% from the field, grab four rebounds, snatch up two steals, swat down a shot, and dish out an assist. She now sits a 997 pints for her career. The milestone will likely be achieved on the road in the Wildcats rescheduled game with St. Elizabeth on Sunday afternoon.

Junior sharpshooter Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y. / Fabius-Pompey HS) dropped 20 on the Fighting Tigers. She shot 58% from the field. 12 of her 20 points came from behind the three point line where she shot 66%. Ray also recorded two steals and two rebounds in the contest.

As a team, the Wildcats had the edge shooting the ball. They shot better from the field (40% - 38.5%) and better from beyond the arc (41.7% - 27.8%). The Wildcats also had fewer turnovers (13-21) which led to SUNY Poly recording 17 points off turnovers to Cobleskill's 13.

With the road win, the Wildcats improve to 12-4 (9-0 NEAC) placing them atop the NEAC North Division standings. The Wildcats will be back in action on Sunday when they travel to Morristown, New Jersey to take on the College of St. Elizabeth Eagles in a NEAC Conference match-up. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM tip-off.
