MARCY, N.Y. - The women's basketball team hosted Cobleskill on Wednesday in the team's third NEAC Conference match-up of the season. The Wildcats came out victorious in the contest thanks to productive offense from two players; a newcomer to the Wildcats team and a familiar name. The final score of the game was 63-51.

The Wildcats were led by transfer Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y. / Fabius-Pompey HS). In her first game as a Wildcat she dropped a cool 21 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished out two assists, and had two steals in the game. A large chunk of her scoring came from beyond the 3-point line where she went 5-10.

Senior Geena Gallo (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa HS) had yet another double-double in the game scoring 16 points and hitting the boards for 11 rebounds. This was her third double-double of the season and her second in her last two games. Geena also matched her season high with three steals in the game, a mark that was set in her last game against Alfred State. The 16 points put Geena over 900 points for her career. She now sits at 910, just 90 points from an outstanding career milestone of 1,000 points!

Statistically the Wildcats had the edge in field goal percentage (39%-33%), three point percentage (40%-22%), and assists (10-7). The Wildcats also had fewer turnovers in the game (11-23), more points off of turnovers (19-9), and points in the paint (24). The Fighting tigers had a better free throw percentage (79%-53%) and had more rebounds (40-35).

The win brings the Wildcats record to 6-4 (3-0 NEAC). The team will host Wilson and Gallaudet this weekend.
