WBB: Hamilton Takes Rivalry Game 56-39. Knowles Scores a Game High 14 Points.

MARCY, N.Y. - On Saturday the SUNY Poly women's basketball team hosted crosstown rival Hamilton College. The teams played pretty evenly through two quarters, but Hamilton ran away with the game in the second half, holding the Wildcats to just 12 points in the final two quarters. The final score of the game was 56-39.

For the Wildcats, Lauren Knowles (Salisbury Mills, N.Y. / Washingtonville HS) scored a game high 14 points and recorded six rebounds and a steal. Erika Charbonneau (Boonville, N.Y. / Adirondack HS) grabbed a game high eight rebounds and added two assists, one block and a steal.  

The statistical edge in the matchup went to the Continentals as they out rebounded the Wildcats 44-36, shot better from the floor (42%- 24%), and were able to make three 3-pointers to the Wildcats one. The Wildcats did however have the edge in team assists (7-6), and team steals (6-4).

With the loss, SUNY Poly's season record moves to 1-1. The Wildcats will be back on the court on Saturday for their first NEAC matchup of the season against the Wells College Express. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM. Live video and statistics will be available HERE
