Lady Wildcats Bounce Back with a 77-59 Victory over Wells College

Aurora, N.Y.- After the clock ran out of its final seconds above the Frances Tarlton Farenthold gymnasium, the SUNYIT woman's basketball team (9-6, 7-2 NEAC) parted ways with the Wells College Express (5-12, 4-7 NEAC) to bring home another conference win on Sunday, January 27th.

The Wildcats and Express fought back-and-forth in a two-point lead tug-of-war for the first fifteen minutes until senior Lyndsey Brognano (Rome, NY / Rome Free Academy) and junior Abbey Hanahan (Stillwater, NY / Stillwater H.S.) rocked the ball, giving SUNYIT some breathing room to enter the second half.

The Lady Wildcats gained more momentum to obtain a comfortable lead throughout the last twenty and finished out the game defeating Wells 77-59. Hanahan continued to play up to her reputation, scoring 18 points total while Brognano followed closely with 16.

The women return to the court on Wednesday, January 30th matching up against SUNY Cobleskill in Cobleskill, NY at 5:00pm.
