SB: Five Wildcats Earn NAC All-Conference Awards

WATERVILLE, Maine - The North Atlantic Conference has announced the Softball All-Conference Award winners for the 2023 season. The awards are nominated and voted on by the coaches of the NAC and consist of five individual awards, two All-Conference Teams for each division, and an 11-player Sportsmanship Team. The Wildcats had five players earn All-Conference Awards. Kimberly Birmingham and Trinity Critelli were First Team West All-Conference. Gabriella Ellixson and Maddelyn Hoehn were Second Team West All-Conference. Joy Stevens was the Wildcats representative on the NAC Sportsmanship Team.

 

Kimberly Birmingham had a fantastic first season for the Wildcats in 2023, culminating in a First Team selection. She led the Wildcats with a .460 batting average, had a team-high 37 RBI, hit three home runs, six triples, seven doubles, and had a slugging percentage of .782. She was 1st in the NAC in Slugging Percentage, 1st in the NAC in OPS, 1st in the NAC in Triples, and 5th in the NAC in batting average.

 

Trinity Critelli earned her second First Team West All-Conference Award of her career. This season, she broke her own single-season strikeout record with 189. She was second in all of Division III with 11.3 strikeouts per seven innings. She also set the single-season wins record at SUNY Poly with a 16-4 record. She ended the season with a 3.12 ERA and an opposing batting average of .234. She also threw three no-hitters this season.

 

Gabriella Ellixson earned her first NAC All-Conference Award of her career this season. She hit .381 with 24 hits, six extra-base hits, and 11 RBI. She had an on-base percentage of .467 with a slugging percentage of .492. She was also a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts. She was named to the West Second Team.

 

Maddelyn Hoehn earned her second All-Conference honor in as many years. Hoehn had a solid season at the top of the Wildcat lineup. She hit a career-high .330 with a slugging percentage of .429 and an on-base percentage of .404. She scored 33 times and had 11 RBI. She was a West Second Team selection.

 

Joy Stevens was the Wildcats representative on the NAC Sportsmanship Team.
