MCC: Wildcats Take Runner-up at NEAC Championship.

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's cross country team took runner-up at the NEAC Championship Race for the second consecutive season. The race was hosted by Cobleskill St. who went on to capture the NEAC title in the race. Five Wildcats earned NEAC All-Conference Awards after finishing inside the top 21.

 

THE RACE:

SUNY Poly ran a solid race in the NEAC Championships. The 'Cats top five placed 7th, 8th, 9th, 16th, and 18th for a team total of 58 points. The Champion Fighting Tigers had a team score of 49 in the race, earning a win on their home course. Cobleskill's top runner was the race winner and NEAC Runner of the Year Jared Craw who ran the 8K in 26:14.5, 24 seconds faster than the second-place runner.

 

ALL-CONFERENCE AWARDS:

SUNY Poly's Garrett Jones (New Hartford, N.Y.) earned a NEAC All-Conference First Team Award for his efforts. He finished the race in 7th place with a time of 28:00.7. Jake Baisley and Jonathon Miller (Oneonta, N.Y.) were named to the NEAC All-Conference Second Team after placing 8th and 9th respectively. Poly rounded out their All-Conference Selections with Andrew Pfeifer (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) and Joseph Killian (Grand Island, N.Y.) who were named to the Third Team.

The Wildcats will compete in the NCAA DIII Atlantic Regional on Saturday, November 16th at St. Lawrence University in Canton N.Y.
