ALBANY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT's Men's Volleyball Team improved to 4-1 overall last night after a 3-0 win against the Sage College Gators. The Wildcats won the first two sets 25-17 and 25-18, respectively. They battled it out in the third set but came out on top 25-22.

Sophomore outside-hitter Evan Smith and fellow freshman OH Matthew Cardot combined for 16 of the Wildcats' 31 kills. The duo also led the team in digs, Cardot with 7 and Smith with 6. Jeff Knapp helped the Wildcats out with 25 setting assists and a kill and Dan O'Connor had all 3 of the team's aces.

The Gators manufactured 27 kills with senior outside Dylan Krowicki leading the way with 13. Matthew DeGeyter added 25 assists for Sage and joined Cory Gransbury to lead the Gators with 7 digs apiece.

The SUNYIT Wildcats will host Keuka and Southern Vermont colleges on Saturday, with match times of 1 and 5 pm. Due to a scheduling conflict, both matches will be played at the Campus Center Gym instead of the Wildcat Field House.
