Wildcats Win Season Opener on the Road

New Paltz, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Men's Soccer team kicked off the season with a commanding 3-0 victory over the Sarah Lawrence Gryphons. Senior midfielder Jhonny Theze led the charge with two goals, while freshman JohnPaul Jerome added another to seal the win. The Wildcats will remain in New Paltz overnight and prepare to face the Hawks on August 31st.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats came out strong, with Johnny Theze scoring the season's first goal just nine minutes in. JohnPaul Jerome extended the lead to 2-0 in the 42nd minute, thanks to an assist from forward Edgar Gomez. With a dynamic offense that produced 15 shots, the Wildcats took their 2-0 lead into halftime.

The Wildcats continued to play solid defense in the second half, and with Theze netting his second goal of the game in the 67th minute, the Wildcats would go on to secure the 3-0 victory.
