MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer had a great showing in their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Quarterfinal game against Cobleskill on Saturday. The Wildcats earned a spot in the Divisional Championship Game with a convincing 4-0 win over the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers. The Wildcats will play Cazenovia in the Divisional Championship game on Sunday, October 31st at 1:00 PM.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
SUNY Poly scored three times in the first half to take a commanding lead in the game. The 'Cats went up 1-0 early in the first half when Edgar Gomez scored off a saved shot rebound in the 11th minute. Matthew McCord scored in the 31st minute to give Poly a 2-0 lead. In the 44th minute, Peyton Bennett played a corner into Aboubacar Camara who beat the goalie with a shot to the bottom left. The Wildcats added one more score in the second half when Wakeley Banker battled to knock in a clean header off another corner from Bennett.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Wakeley Banker scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season in the game.

Chase Coluccio earned his eighth win and eighth shutout in goal for the Wildcats. He needed to make just one save to earn the win.

Edgar Gomez scored his sixth goal of the season for the Wildcats. He has 13 points this season.

Aboubacar Camara scored a goal for the Wildcats in the 44th minute. The goal puts his point total for the season at 12.

Matthew McCord scored his second goal of the season.

John Gergen was on the losing end of the decision in goal. He made nine saves for the Fighting Tigers in 45 minutes of work.

The Fighting Tigers were stifled by the Wildcat defense. They managed to get off just two shots and placed just one of those shots on goal.

SUNY Poly advances to the NAC West Division Championship game on Sunday, October 31st at 1:00 PM. The Wildcats will face Cazenovia in the game. Cazenovia advanced in the second quarterfinal of the day, beating SUNY Canton 1-0. The game will be played at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field and will be streamed live on the SUNY Poly Sports Network (SPSN).
