MSOC: Wildcats Eliminated From NEAC Tournament in the Quarterfinals.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team was eliminated in the first round of the NEAC Championship Tournament on Tuesday in a 3-0 game with Keuka at home. SUNY Poly struggled to get the offense going in the game. Keuka scored two goals in the first half to take an early lead. The Wolves would add another goal in the second half to take a commanding lead. With the win, Keuka advances to the NEAC Final Four in Harrisburgh this weekend.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Senior Chris Millard was the driving force behind the Keuka win. Millard scored both of the Wolves goals in the first half; one in the 31st minute and one in the 37th minute. The Wildcat offense could not get going, managing just three shots on goal in the game. Keuka added an insurance goal in the 57th minute to seal the victory, advancing to the Final Four.

 

NOTABLES:

  • James D'Alessio () was the goalkeeper of record for the Wildcats. He made five saves in the game.
  • Chris Millard had two goals for the Wolves. They were his eighth and ninth of the season.
  • Seth Spurgeon also scored a goal in the game. It was his seventh of the year.
  • Ryan Mavretish earned the win in goal for Keuka. He made three saves on three shots faced to record the shutout.
