MSOC: Wildcats Win Double OT Thriller at Home 

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team won a double-overtime thriller to advance to 3-0 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference with a 1-0 win over the SUNYCobleskill FightingTigers. After a deadlocked regulation with no goals scored the game would be decided in multiple overtime periods. The game would be decided in the 109th minute by Richie Morris (Spanish Town, Jamaica) assisted on a beautiful pass by Akeem Shelton (Kingston, Jamaica)

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES 

  • Richard Morris led the charge for the Wildcats with the game-winning goal and the only goal of the game. He has 4 goals on the season and 8th as a Wildcat. 

  • Akeem Shelton tallied his first career assist for the Wildcats.  

  • SUNY Poly Goalkeeper James D'Alessio (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) earned his fifth victory on the season making two saves in goal. 

  • Cobleskill goalkeeper Rashawn Best had a game-high three saves.

The Wildcats look to continue their winning ways on the road against North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Wells College Express. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
