Utica, N.Y - After wrapping up their season with a record of 8-6, the SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team is now preparing for their first round matchup against the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs in the NAC Tournament. With a 6-2 conference record, the Wildcats secured the #3 seed in the tournament. Maine Maritime Academy earned the #1 seed, following their 7-1 record in conference play. 

The Mustangs just completed a season that saw them win eight games, seven of them being conference games. The Mustangs were led by Zach Nestor, who started all 15 games for the squad, and produced 94 points on 26 goals and 68 assists. Graduate student Andrew Maycock and Junior Luke Taylor lead the Wildcats in points, both accumulating 37 throughout the season. SUNY Morrisville enters the tournament on a six game winning streak, meanwhile, the Wildcats are on a two game skid, and have only won one of their last four games. 

When the two teams met earlier in the season, the Mustangs got the better of the Wildcats, winning by a score of 15-10. Payton Thomas led the Wildcats with four goals on seven shots. Dante Patriarco carried the Mustangs, netting five goals and dishing out one assist. Nathan Weise had a strong outing in net for the Mustangs, pushing aside 16 of the Wildcats 26 shots in the game. 

The round one matchup will take place at Maine Maritime on Saturday, May 4th at 2:00 P.M.
