MBB: Wildcats Unable to Overcome Late Deficit in 77-72 Loss to Cobleskill.

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team lost to SUNY Cobleskill on Friday night 77-72. The game was an exciting one with nine lead changes and six ties in the game. The Wildcats built a seven-point lead in the first half, but a shooting percentage dip in the second half allowed Cobleskill to erase the deficit and build one of their own. The Fighting Tigers led by as many as eight points late in the second half and were able to take that lead over the finish line to earn their 16th win of the season. The Wildcats are now 11-12 this season with a 6-6 record in NAC play.

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • Jesse O'Dell had a 21-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Wildcats. He also had a steal, a block, and a pair of assists in the game.
  • Andre Starks was outstanding for the Fighting Tigers. He scored a game-high 27 points, shot 60% from the field, and knocked down three of four from three-point range.
  • Cheickne Toure had 15 points, three rebounds, three assists, and a steal for the Wildcats.
  • Anthony Rose scored 12 points in 18 minutes off the bench for the Wildcats.
  • Jeremy Rosario scored 14 points for the Fighting Tigers.
  • Markel Jenkins scored 13 points and had nine rebounds for Cobleskill.
