MBB: Wildcats Notch Fourth Divisional Win In a 20 Point Win Over Delhi.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team recorded their 11th win of the season on Friday in an 81-61 win over SUNY Delhi in NAC West Divisional play. The Wildcats dominated in the paint to lock up the win, scoring 48 points in the paint and out-rebounding the Broncos 49-32. The win has the Wildcats season record at 11-6 with a 4-0 record in West Division play. 

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

  • Josh Gregory led all scorers with 27 points. He was just a rebound shy of a double-double with nine and had three assists and two blocks. 

  • Jesse O'Dell played a very efficient game for the Wildcats. The junior shot 89% from the field (8-9) and had a team-high four assists. He finished up the night with 17 points and four rebounds. 

  • Mitch Kernizan scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds. He scored half of his points at the charity stripe where he went 6-8. 

  • Emerson Therneus scored a team-high 14 points for Delhi in 18 minutes off the bench. 

  • Isaiah Barnes had 12 points, a team-high five assists, and three steals for the Broncos. 

  • Mavenson Therneus had an 11 point, 11 rebound double-double for SUNY Delhi. He also had an assist and a block.

The Wildcats will host SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, January 22nd at 1:00 PM. No spectators will be allowed at the game, but it will be streamed live on the SUNY Poly Sports Network (SPSN).
