MBB: Wildcats Drop Season Opener to Hobart 65-48.

OSWEGO, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team opened up their 2021-22 season on the road on Friday at Oswego State's Max Ziel Tournament against Hobart. The Wildcats lost the opener to the Hobart College Statesmen 65-48. The 'Cats will face the Elmira College Soaring Eagles on Saturday in the tournament's consolation game. 

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

  • Josh Gregory had a solid performance for the Wildcats. He scored a game-high 21 points on 7-13 shooting. He also pulled down seven rebounds, had a pair of blocks, two assists, and two steals. 

  • Jesse O'Dell had 10 points, five rebounds, three steals, a block, and an assist in the game. 

  • Josh Ernst had nine points, three rebounds, a steal, and an assist. 

  • Jackson Meshanic led the Statesman with 16 points on 7-12 shooting. 

  • Aidan Rodgers had 14 points for Hobart. 

  • Patrick Walker scored 11 points for the Statesmen. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will face Elmira College in the consolation game of the Max Ziel Tournament. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 PM tip-off at Oswego's Max Ziel Gymnasium.
