MBB: SUNY Poly Earns NEAC Road Win at Rival Cazenovia 82-66.

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team earned their third NEAC win of the season on Wednesday in an 82-66 win at Cazenovia. The Wildcats went up early and never relinquished the lead. The Wildcats built their lead as high as 22 in the game, shooting 56% from the field. They knocked down a team-high 10 three-pointers in the win. SUNY Poly improved their record to 6-6 (3-1 NEAC) while Cazenovia falls to 4-9 (2-2 NEAC).

 

NOTABLES: 

  • Just one game removed from his big milestone, Josh Gregory (Whitesboro, N.Y.) had another outstanding game for the 'Cats. The Junior had a game-high 29 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks. The 29 points were a season-high for Gregory. He shot 55% from the field and hit a game-high four three-pointers. 

  • Caleb Canty (Hudson, N.Y.) had a solid game for the Wildcats. The junior had 14 points, five assists, and a rebound. 

  • Jesse O'Dell (Rotterdam, N.Y.) scored 10 points in the win. He also had a pair of rebounds, a block, and an assist. 

  • Kievonn Banks (Rochester, N.Y.) had a game-high 14 rebounds for the Wildcats. The senior also scored six points and had three assists. 

  • Lucci Vigliotti had a team-high 17 points for Cazenovia. He played 26 minutes off the bench and shot 50% from the field. 

  • Will Cutler and Jaceary Menes each had 10 points for Caz. Cutler had four rebounds and an assist. Menes had a rebound, a block, and a steal. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will return to the friendly confines of the Campus Center Gym to host NEAC foe Morrisville State in a North Division match-up. Morrisville is 7-6 this season and is 4-0 in NEAC play. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 18th.
