MBB: Wildcats Fall in a Double Overtime Thriller With Morrisville.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Morrisville State held a 15 point lead after the first half thanks in large part to a low shooting percentage by the Wildcats and an eight rebound differential in favor of the Mustangs. The Wildcats would claw their way back into the game in the second half to tie the game at the end of regulation. The Wildcats played great team defense and shot over 60% from three in the second half to work their way back into the game.

The first overtime period was an evenly matched 10-10 draw. Jaylin Gray (Brooklyn, N.Y.) hit a clutch layup with 17 seconds left in the OT to tie up the game late. A last second missed three pointer by Morrisville sent the game into 2OT.

In the second overtime, the Mustangs led by as many as four points but the 'Cats showed tenacity, tying the game up with a minute left. The game came down to a pair of free throws with under a second left that Lamel Faison drained to force a hail-mary baseline inbound play for the Wildcats with .8 seconds left which fell short.
