Wildcats Stumble Late, Suffer 87-81 Loss to Morrisville

UTICA, NY - The SUNYIT men's basketball team suffered an 87-81 defeat this Wednesday afternoon against conference foe, Morrisville State. With the loss, the Wildcats are 1-12 (0-3 NEAC) on the season while the Mustangs improve to 5-6 (2-0 NEAC) overall.

Leading the pack in points this afternoon was freshman forward T'Andre Richardson (Utica, NY/Utica-Proctor) who knocked in 22 points, had one assist and tallied 10 rebounds. Junior forward Derek Rowe (Mexico, NY/Mexico Academy) contributed with 10 points and came up with 11 rebounds. Senior guard, Alex Grimmer (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) registered 16 points while junior guard Sejad Gromilic (Bosnia/Utica-Proctor) knocked in seven and registered 12 assists.  Justin Brignola finished the evening with 16 points, a rebound and two assists. 

For the Mustangs, sophomore forward Kucjok Atar (Syracuse, NY/Bishop Grimes) led the scoring squad with 21 points, 10 total rebounds and two assists, while sophomore guard Brandon Hanks (Syracuse, NY/Henniger) had 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists.  Sophomore forward Mickey Davis (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) contributed to the Mustang win with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists while junior guard Andrew Lucio (Syracuse, NY/Solvay) finished the evening with seven assists.

The Wildcats head to the road this weekend where they will be traveling to Abington, PA to take on NEAC opponent Penn State Abington.  The game is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m.
